Cloud Cost & Architecture Review
A short, fixed-scope engagement that reviews an existing AWS account for wasted spend, resilience gaps and architecture risk, ending in a prioritised written report.
Best for: Businesses currently running on AWS whose environments have never been independently audited
For organisations already using AWS, this focused one-to-two-week engagement almost always pays for itself. We audit your infrastructure to optimise costs — identifying idle resources, right-sizing databases, and managing storage lifecycles. Crucially, we stress-test your resilience, validating backup procedures and disaster recovery against the AWS Well-Architected Framework. You receive a prioritised, costed action plan.
What's included
- Deep cost optimisation: right-sizing, terminating idle resources, and optimising storage lifecycles
- Disaster-recovery audit: defining recovery targets and validating automated, tested restore paths
- Rigorous assessment across the AWS Well-Architected pillars, scored with actionable findings
- A prioritised, costed set of recommendations delivered in a comprehensive written report
- A strategic walkthrough call — implement the fixes in-house or retain us to execute them
Where it fits
The bill keeps creeping up
A targeted review uncovers idle instances and un-lifecycled storage, delivering a costed roadmap of what to fix immediately.
No tested disaster recovery
Backups exist but are untested. The review defines hard recovery targets and documents a verified, tested restore procedure.
Typical stack
- AWS Cost Explorer
- Trusted Advisor
- Compute Optimizer
- CloudWatch
- AWS Well-Architected Framework
Questions we get asked
How long does the review take?
One to two weeks. You get a written report with prioritised, costed recommendations and a walkthrough call.
Will it actually save money?
It usually pays for itself — idle resources, oversized databases and un-lifecycled storage are common findings. We cannot promise a number before we look, but we will tell you honestly if there is little to find.
Do we have to implement the fixes with you?
No. The report is yours to action in-house. If you would rather we execute the changes, that is a separate engagement.
